The impact of Covid-19 on education and children’s services
SSBC has provided information for the Commons Education Select Committee's review into the impact of Covid-19 on education and children's services in Nottingham.
In April 2020, the Commons Education Select Committee asked for evidence about the impact of Covid-19 on education and children’s services.
SSBC submitted a report about the impact of Covid-19 on children aged 0-4 in Nottingham.
We used views of providers and parents to answer three areas of the enquiry:
- The capacity of children's services to support vulnerable children and young people.
- The effect fo provider closure on the early years' sector including reference to children's development.
- The effect on disadvantaged groups, which has been interpreted as those children and families for whom effective early intervention has the opportunity to be of greatest benefit.
We're pleased that our response was accepted by the Common’s Education Select Committee, and that the experiences of Nottingham families will be heard and will help inform the national review and recommendations.
