SSBC events are a great way for different families to interact with each other, especially after this pandemic. They offer free books and goodies for families too, which is such a kind gesture.

I have been raising my toddler during the pandemic and he had become very hesitant around other kids like he was almost afraid. After lockdown ended, we started attending the groups. At first, he was a little uncomfortable around the children there but after a few weeks, he was a completely different kid and is so sociable. 

He just loves going to different groups and seeing the other children. They’ve really helped with his development. 
English is not our first language so attending the groups has really helped build up his vocabulary. At home, we don’t encourage screen time or cartoons, so my son was not very familiar with a lot of nursery rhymes before the groups. Now he has learnt so many different rhymes and can do all the actions for them.    

My Family Mentor, Hirali, is amazing! Not only does she support me to do the best for my son, but she also focuses on my wellbeing. She was the first person who asked me how I was feeling after the birth and has been so supportive throughout the lockdowns; always encouraging me to go out and go to the park or attend the online groups so I don’t feel lonely or stressed out.
She has helped me so much, especially with my son’s picky eating. She encouraged me to offer him what the family were eating and to keep mealtimes simple and stress-free. It has helped so much.

I’d encourage parents to try the service and they will be able to see for themselves the difference it can make to their family. 
Supporting children at this early stage really boosts their confidence and development. SSBC’s support prepares children for pre-school and school. It teaches them how to deal with other children & conflict and how to behave in a classroom and respect others. 

I’m still so surprised by how SSBC can provide such an amazing service with so many benefits without any cost to families. 
I will definitely use the service again if I have more children.
