Transforming Services - using Trauma Informed Principles to Change Practice - March 2024
The third conference was delivered by two key presenters, Dr Lisa Cherry, Director of Trauma Informed Consultancy Services Ltd and Dr Suzanne Zeedyk, Developmental Psychologist and Research Scientist, University of Dundee, who returned to share their professional insight into trauma informed practice and provided an engaging journey through the first six principles.
Dr Lisa Cherry, is an author, researcher, leading international trainer and consultant, specialising in assisting schools, services and systems to create systemic change to the way that we work with those experiencing and living with, the legacy of trauma.
The afternoon session focused on putting the principles into practice, and principles 7 to 9 were explored by our partnership colleagues. The time was spent looking at peer support and mutual self help, being culturally competent, and pathways to trauma specific care.
As part of our legacy we wanted to ensure colleagues left the event with information and tools to maintain a trauma informed approach in practice.
